2015-2020
SumUp is the leading mobile point of sale (mPOS) company in Europe and is set to empower the world to accept card payments. Launched in August 2012, SumUp has expanded into more than 35 countries, with offices in São Paulo, Berlin, London, Sofia, Boulder and Santiago.

I worked there for 5 years, and gathered experience in content strategy, production and measurement, branding, CRM, website management and design.
Below you can find some of the main projects that I worked.

In 2015, SumUp was reaching around 5.000 active merchants, and they all had one single complaint: SumUp's card reader did not accept debit cards. The product was at the final testing stage in Europe, and was ready to be launched in Brazil as well.
So, we needed to create a full launching strategy: create the product's name for Brazilian merchants, announcements through different communications channels, photo shootings, Facebook lives, creative ads and CRM campaigns.
I wasn't able to gather all those materials to insert here, but below you can find most of them.
In Europe, the product's name was Pin+. Needless to say that, for Brazilians, it would be a major confusion if we launched with that name. So, I came up with the simplest, most common and recognizable word possible: TOP.
“Top 5 best songs", “I'm on top of the world", “She's the top photographer in Brazil"… you name it. Almost every human being around the globe knows what it means. It's easy to say in most languages. And, in Brazil, it was kind of a “trending” word that was appearing in a lot of songs and social media. It was the perfect name to give such an important product. And it makes me very proud to say that, since 2015 until today, it is SumUp's main product, and it keeps the same name I gave to it.
